ABOUT

What we do.png

For more than twenty years Godspeed Ministries, under the direction of Larry Smiley has made available an outstanding Car Care Ministry!

The scope of this ministry is this; YOU PROVIDE THE PARTS – WE PROVIDE THE LABOR for MINOR repairs and diagnostics to those who need assistance with fixing their vehicle.  It’s a fact that labor costs can hinder budgeting for car repairs. The consequence often results in an unsafe vehicle being relied upon for transportation.

You can benefit from the expertise of our Car Care Volunteers as they share their talents.

1st and 3rd Saturday in Jan,

2nd and 4th Saturday Feb-May,

2nd Saturday only in Jun-July-August,

2nd and 4th Saturday Sept-Nov,

1st Saturday in Dec.

See HOW IT WORKS below for more information.

"We are grateful for Team Leader, Roger Egleston's assistance since 2004.  He is greatly missed.  For more information see "Volunteers."

Initial Phone Consultation

Call Larry at (405) 834-4301, between the hours of 9am – 5pm Monday - Friday. During this consultation, we will discuss your vehicle issue(s) and will determine if our volunteer Car Care program is a good fit for you.

It's Important to call Larry first to make an appointment.

We also strongly advise you to read our Car Care Guidelines.

STEP 1

STEP 2

Schedule Your Time at The Clinic

Car Care Clinics are held 2 Saturdays of MOST months from 9am – 12pm and require an appointment.    See our SCHEDULE for exact dates and times.

  • All appointments must be scheduled by phone, by calling Larry at (405) 834-4301, between the hours of 9am – 5pm, Monday prior to the scheduled Clinic you wish to attend.

  • If you can’t attend your appointment, you must contact us to cancel at your earliest convenience. This enables us to help another person with their vehicle.

STEP 3

Day of Your Appointment

  • You must arrive no later than 9:15 a.m., with your running vehicle, to allow the time needed to make minor repairs or diagnostics within your 3-hour appointment window.

  • NO TOW-INS are accepted.

  • Please check our SCHEDULE to confirm your appointment date and address.

  • YOU are responsible for providing any needed parts. We can help you with the decisions of what parts are needed when you call for your appointment.

  • WE will provide FREE LABOR.

  • You must STAY with the vehicle in the designated safety area through the duration of the repair.

  • Diagnostics may require a second visit to make repairs when the needed parts have not yet been purchased.

IF REQUIRED

Additional Appointments

  • If additional appointments are required, please start back at STEP 1.

ALWAYS CALL FIRST.

Whether it is your first time to contact us, or you have been to one of our clinics before; you must call Larry at 405-834-4301 between 9:00-5:00  to discuss your vehicle’s needs Monday before scheduled clinic.

  • We will advise you if we have a volunteer qualified to make the minor repair or diagnostics you need and if said volunteer will be at the clinic you have in mind.  During the call we can often determine if this ministry will be able to help you.

  • The Car Care Ministry does not operate on a first-come-first-served basis.

  • Car Care receives vehicles for repair on clinic days up until 9:15 a.m., giving priority to vehicle safety issues above all else to those who have called ahead to request service.

  • Vehicles arriving after 9:15 a.m. may have to be rescheduled for a future clinic (even if you called ahead) as we are limited to a three hour clinic and rarely take in late arrivals.

A second clinic visit may be needed to have the repairs done if you do not know what parts to purchase.  We will do our best to identify what is needed.  Time permitting, a repair could be done during the same clinic hours. However, if time is not sufficient a return visit should be expected for the repair.

  • Please contact us the Monday before your desired clinic to schedule your repair whether it's a first or return visit. Our volunteers will make a conscientious effort to first address a vehicle’s safety needs.   As time permits, they will proceed to other items we are qualified to diagnose/repair.

COSMETIC OR COMFORT NEEDS:

Often a reliable vehicle may have cosmetic/comfort needs that are not relative to safety.    It is not cost effective to pursue restorative type repairs.
